Tay-K Acquitted of Capital Murder

On Monday, April 14, a jury found Tay-K, whose real name is Taymor McIntyre, guilty of murder but not guilty of capital murder in the 2017 shooting of 20-year-old Mark Saldivar. The case involved a fatal altercation in a San Antonio Chick-fil-A parking lot. While prosecutors claimed he played a role in the incident, the jury decided there wasn’t enough evidence to convict him of the most serious charge. If the jury had convicted him of capital murder, he could have faced the death penalty.

Sentenced to 80 Years in Prison

On Tuesday, April 15, jurors officially delivered the sentencing for the rapper. According to KSAT News, McIntyre was sentenced to 80 years in prison. The judge said Tay-K’s 80-year sentence will run concurrently with his 55-year sentence for a separate 2016 murder case. If y’all remember, the first case involved a 2016 home invasion in Texas where 21-year-old Ethan Walker was killed.  Though Tay-K reportedly didn’t fire the gun, he was convicted for participating in the robbery that led to the murder.
