Vaibhav Suryavanshi bullied by LSG stars after sensational debut in IPL 2025


Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) batter Arshin Kulkarni engaged in some funny banter after the IPL 2025 clash. Arshin jokingly teased Suryavanshi by saying, “14 saal ka ladka humko paagal bana raha hai” in a video shared by Rajasthan Royals (RR) on social media.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi made a sensational IPL debut on April 19 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. He became the youngest player to feature in the tournament. The 14-year-old batter smashed a six off the first ball he faced and went on to score an impressive 34 runs from just 20 deliveries.

After the match, Arshin Kulkarni asked for Suryavanshi’s bat, saying, “Yeh bat bahut accha hai.” A teammate teased that the RR opener already gets 30 bats a year. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, however, kept insisting he didn’t have one to spare. He added that he had actually borrowed Sanju Samson’s bat for the match.

“Yeh bat bahut accha hai” (I love this bat),” Kulkarni said.

“Usko saal ke 30 bat mil rahe hain” (He already gets 30 bats a year),” teammate of Kulkarni’s said.

“Baad mein bhijwa doonga yaar bat. Bat nehi hae, kasaam se bat bhijwa doonga. Nehi hae bat match khelne ke liye, sanju bhaiya ke bat se match khela. (I will send you a bat later. Honestly, I don’t have much bats, will send you later. I didn’t had a bat to play the match. Played with Sanju Samson’s bat),” Suryavanshi was heard saying.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi was picked by the Rajasthan Royals for ₹1.1 crore at the auction. He also set records as the youngest to hit both a four and a six in the tournament.

Suryavanshi, opening with Yashasvi Jaiswal, added an impressive 85-run partnership in just 8.4 overs while chasing a target of 181. However, the Royals’ middle order faltered, with Riyan Parag’s 39 off 26 being the only notable contribution.

The Royals needed nine off the final over. Shimron Hetmyer’s dismissal put pressure on the chase, and Avesh Khan held his nerve to seal a thrilling two-run win for Lucknow Super Giants. Avesh was named Player of the Match for his 3-wicket haul.

Rajasthan Royals Struggle with Consistency in IPL 2025

Rajasthan Royals have struggled with consistency this season. They are currently in eighth place on the points table with just two wins from eight games. The Jaipur-based team will aim to bounce back when they face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday, April 24.

Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants climbed from fifth to fourth position in the 10-team points table. The Rishabh Pant-led team has 10 points from eight matches, with five wins and three losses so far. They will be eager to reach the playoffs by performing well in the upcoming matches of the tournament.
