MI vs CSK key battles:
Rachin Ravindra vs Trent Boult:
The battle between Rachin Ravindra and Trent Boult could set the tone for the remainder of the innings. Boult is known for his abilities to strike with the new ball and the onus will be on Rachin to ensure that his New Zealand teammate does not inflict too much damage on CSK.
Suryakumar Yadav vs Noor Ahmad:
Suryakumar Yadav has been one of MI’s best batters this season. The India T20I captain is MI’s leading run-scorer this season and is at the fourth spot in the overall list. His abilities with the bat are well known, and CSK would be looking to get rid of him as early as possible.
The onus to dismiss Suryakumar will be on Noor Ahmad. The in-form spinner is the leading wicket-taker this season and will be fancying his chances of getting the MI star out. During the first meeting between the two teams earlier this season, Noor had Suryakumar stumped with a brilliant delivery and will be confident of outfoxing him again.
MS Dhoni vs Jasprit Bumrah:
The battle between MS Dhoni and Jasprit Bumrah is going to be special. The battle will be between the world’s best fast-bowler against one of the most decorated finishers in the history of the game. Dhoni is likely to be in action with the bat in the death overs and there is no denying that Bumrah will be leading the charge with the ball at that stage.
Dhoni played a match-winning cameo in the last game, scoring an unbeaten 26 off just 11 balls. He will be eyeing another impactful outing. Bumrah, on the other hand, conceded just 21 runs against SRH in the last game and will be keen to deliver with the ball again.
MI vs CSK Key Players:
MI– Ryan Rickelton, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah will be the key players for MI.
CSK – Rachin Ravindra, Shaik Rasheed, Shivam Dube, MS Dhoni, and Noor Ahmad will be the key players for CSK.
MI vs CSK Weather Report:
There is no prediction of rain in Mumbai on the match day. The temperature is set to hover around 30 degrees Celsius for most of the match.
Conclusion:
The first meeting between the two teams this season went CSK’s way. CSK will be taking confidence from it and will be keen to do a double on MI.
On the other hand, MI will be desperate to win the upcoming game and end their poor record against CSK in recent times. MI have lost the last five games against CSK and have not defeated them since 2022.
