Real Madrid duo reportedly separated after training ground bust-up as tempers flare ahead of Arsenal clash

Tensions reportedly ran high at Real Madrid last week with Jude Bellingham and Antonio Rudiger becoming embroiled in a training ground bust-up.

El Chiringuito report the incident took place on Friday, just three days after Madrid were humbled 3-0 by Arsenal in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final and before their trip to Alaves in La Liga at the weekend.

Rudiger is believed to have put in a bad tackle on Bellingham, prompting the England midfielder to deliver a slur in the German’s direction. Rudiger then confronted Bellingham, leading to the pair having to be separated by team-mates.

Wednesday’s game of huge importance with Madrid’s season on the brink

The news does not come as a major surprise with a lack of discipline characterising Madrid’s season, which is now teetering on the brink of becoming a major disappointment.

Bellingham served a two-game suspension after being sent-off at Osasuna in February for swearing at referee Jose Munuera Montero in a 1-1 draw while Kylian Mbappe was also dismissed in the first-half of yesterday’s 1-0 win at Alaves for a poor tackle.

Eduardo Camavinga will miss Wednesday’s return against Arsenal after being shown a second yellow card at the Emirates for senselessly kicking the ball away in frustration.

After that game Bellingham admitted it could have been a lot worse. He said: “We’re lucky to get away with only three. We were nowhere near it. That’s the fact and Arsenal were really good. I know two of their goals were free-kicks but they could have had way more. There is a second leg and that’s what we’re holding on to.”

Bellingham and Vinicius Jr still believe

Despite his initial pessimism, both Bellingham and winger Vinicius Jr – having been rested for the Alaves game – sent messages of encouragement to the supporters ahead of the Arsenal clash at the Bernabeu, a stadium synonymous with Madrid comebacks.

“Believe,” Bellingham wrote on his Instagram account. “See you Wednesday Madridistas.”

Brazil star Vinicius Jr took to the same platform to add: “Already thinking about Wednesday!!! We’re ready and looking forward to it. We’ll see you at the Bernabeu and we’ll try everything. WE ARE REAL MADRID!!! HALAMADRID!”
