Ludvig Aberg drains first profession hole-in-one throughout third spherical of Genesis Invitational

For the second straight week, there’s a hole-in-one on the PGA Tour. 

Ludvig Aberg made a hole-in-one on gap No. 3 through the third spherical on the Genesis Invitational after Emiliano Grillo made one on the Phoenix Open’s famed sixteenth gap final week. 

Aberg, 25, was 140 yards out and used a pitching wedge. The opening was barely down hill from the tee field.

Aberg landed it only a few toes behind the pin, after which it spun again and rattled across the gap earlier than falling in. 

It was the primary hole-in-one of Aberg’s PGA Tour profession. 

Aberg and the response to his shot was rather more subdued than the response to Grillo’s on the notorious sixteenth gap. 

Aberg put his palms within the air and fist-pumped earlier than getting congratulations from his caddy.

Aberg got here into the day at 4-under par, and as of press time he’s seven-under par by means of eight holes in a tie for second place with Scottie Scheffler and Danny McCarthy.

Davis Thompson is the present chief at 8-under par.

Patrick Rodgers is sitting at 6-under, whereas Rory McIlroy, Tony Finau, and Samuel Stevens are all at -4 for the event.

Aberg has only one profession win since turning professional in 2023, successful the RSM Basic in 2023.
