John Cena Breaks Silence On Getting A Cosmetic Surgery

John Cena has finally opened up about why he got a hair transplant surgery to fix his bald spot.
The WWE superstar did not hold back during a recent interview, where he bashed wrestling critics for “bullying” him into the decision. The professional wrestler implied he was fine with the bald spot until fans used it to taunt him.
John Cena’s pained reaction to the trolling is understandable, as he is one of the most beloved WWE stars. The athlete is so loved that he is the most frequently requested celebrity in the Make-A-Wish Foundation and holds the highest record for granting wishes.

John Cena Slams Critics For Forcing Him To Undergo A Hair Transplant
Cena addressed his cosmetic procedure on “The Pat McAfee Show” during the WWE World Fan Experience in Las Vegas on Monday. He directed his pain at the crowd, calling out those who consistently trolled him over his bald spot.
“You chant, and you make me feel small, and you embarrass me… Y’all don’t know what that’s like. That is straight-up bullying. That’s just not cool. I don’t like it,” Cena confessed. He noted the taunts were too much to handle, and he caved under the pressure to fix a part of himself he never saw as a problem.

The WWE Champion Found The Criticism Disheartening
Cena stressed that undergoing the cosmetic procedure was not an easy journey, as his old hair had to fall out for new ones to grow. He doubled down on critics being the cause of the pain he had to endure, telling the crowd:
“You guys, by the way, thank you for being so aware of my needs and emotions because you guys ripped me to shreds for a genetic problem that I can’t control.”
“This isn’t cool. You guys aren’t cool to me. Why do you think I did it? I’m in the Rumble trying to win, and [they say], ‘How’s the bald spot?’ Like, that’s not fair. I can’t control that,” Cena lamented. He noted people could have pulled him aside to discuss his bald spot; however, they chose to humiliate him publicly.

Cena Won’t Be Rocking His New Hair Anytime Soon
The criticisms against Cena’s bald spot may not end anytime soon, as the results of the cosmetic procedure take time to show. “It’s coming in, man. It’s coming. Hopefully, in a couple of months, it looks better,” the WWE star told McAfee, adding:
“Once it gets better and I’ve got the long flowing locks, I’ll be like, ‘Yo, go to this guy.'”
Cena presumably never expected to be trolled as severely as he was over his bald spot, given his beloved status. As stated, he holds the record for granting the most wishes in the Make-A-Wish Foundation, beating his previous record of 500 wishes in 2022.

The Blast covered the story, reporting that Cena reached the 650 wishes mark seven years after granting 500 wishes in 2015. The record made him the only celebrity to have ever granted that many wishes since the charity organization was founded.
The ‘Peacemaker’ Star Loves Granting Wishes To Children
After setting a new record for the most wishes granted, Cena raved about his love for helping children make their dreams come true. “I just drop everything. If I can offer a fantastic experience, I’ll be first in line to do my part,” he gushed.
Wishes children have requested from Cena included things like wrestling tickets, championship belts, and high-fives. Requests for the WWE Champion started pouring in as his fame in the wrestling world skyrocketed. He joined the charity foundation in 2004, noting their mission resonated with his heart.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation was launched to grant “life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.” The organization’s mission statement partly read:

John Cena Hopes To Give Children Memorable Experiences
Working with the Make-A-Wish Foundation resonated with Cena, whose desire was to give children memorable experiences amid their health battles. “I want them to have an experience that will stay with them forever,” he explained, adding:
“I don’t ever want the children or their families to be treated in a way where they feel as if they’re up against anything at all.”
He echoed similar sentiments on a 2022 appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” where he raved about how much he enjoyed granting wishes.
“Make-A-Wish’s list is enormous, and they literally will do anything you want. ‘I want to kick it with John Cena and see him wrestle.’ That is the coolest thing I have ever heard in my life,” Cena said. The professional wrestler continued:

“It means a lot of things. It means one, something I am passionate about affects people. It means two; I can be a vehicle to help make a wish come true. And it means three, when we engage, when the wish actually happens, it is something that someone wants, and we are the finish line.”
