Inter v AC Milan – Line-ups, stats and preview

Match preview for Inter v AC Milan
With everything to play for after a tense first-leg draw, Inter Milan and AC Milan prepare to square off one final time this season in Wednesday’s Coppa Italia semi-final second leg at San Siro.
The Derby della Madonnina returns to the spotlight for a fifth instalment this campaign, with both clubs hoping to bounce back from weekend defeats and book a place in next month’s final in Rome.
Inter’s recent struggles in the derby continued with a 1-1 draw earlier this month, extending their winless run against Milan to four games.
Hakan Calhanoglu’s trademark strike levelled the score after Tammy Abraham had opened the scoring for the Rossoneri. However, Milan owed much to their goalkeeper, as Mike Maignan produced an inspired performance to deny Inter multiple chances.
Still chasing a historic treble – including the Serie A title, the Champions League, and the Coppa Italia – Inter are eager to restore their authority in the derby and reach the final.
Simone Inzaghi’s men reached the semi-finals by dispatching Udinese and then Lazio. If they progress past Milan, they’re likely to face Bologna, who hold a 3-0 lead over Empoli in the other semi-final.

Team news for Inter v AC Milan
Simone Inzaghi must navigate a packed schedule with Roma and Barcelona looming. While Alessandro Bastoni and Henrikh Mkhitaryan face league suspensions, they’re available midweek.
However, Denzel Dumfries and Piotr Zielinski remain sidelined through injury, and Marcus Thuram is doubtful.
For AC Milan, striker Santiago Gimenez is back in full training and came off the bench against Atalanta. He’s likely to remain a substitute as Tammy Abraham and Luka Jovic battle for a starting role.
Sergio Conceicao appears set to stick with a 3-4-3 system, with young Alex Jimenez possibly continuing at right wing-back. Kyle Walker has resumed training after elbow surgery, but Emerson Royal is still out.
