Former coach suspended over trans athlete praises Trump’s Title IX modifications

Slusser lamented that her coach’s suspension “took away the one secure area we had.”
Now Batie-Smoose’s contract has expired, and the varsity will not be rehiring her.
“It is simply been a protracted two years and standing up for what’s proper, and ensuring we’re persevering with to help girls and girls’s sports activities is what I stood up for and now at present, after 30 years in my profession, [I] have been let go,” she stated Sunday.

“The folks round them [the girls on the team], weren’t supporting them. The administration, the athletic division, the pinnacle coach had been all defending the male and just about gaslighting everyone concerned,” she added.
“It was a really powerful scenario for all of them. Very traumatic what they needed to undergo, and it is unlucky they’ve 4 years to play collegiate volleyball, and their final two years had been affected a lot and never with the ability to play a few of their matches.”
San Jose State was unable to touch upon the scenario, citing personnel issues.
