In a jaw-dropping moment during Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Jos Buttler pulled off a sensational one-handed catch to dismiss Vipraj Nigam. The dismissal came off Prasidh Krishna’s bowling in the 18th over, putting Delhi Capitals in deeper trouble against the Gujarat Titans. Nigam, facing his very first ball, was undone by a delivery that reared sharply from back of a length. Buttler’s stunning athleticism lit up the Narendra Modi Stadium, as the crowd erupted in awe.
Aerial magic in the IPL 2025: Jos Buttler takes a jaw-dropping catch
Krishna steamed in, bowling his 4th over with visible aggression and momentum from his prior three. He banged it in back-of-length on middle, aiming for subtle deviation and steep bounce, ideal for testing new batters. Vipraj, fresh to the crease, instinctively poked at the ball without fully committing to a defensive stroke. The ball, rising and angling into him, brushed the bat’s edge and flew sharply to the right of the wicketkeeper.
What followed was sheer brilliance – Buttler instinctively launched to his right with cat-like reflexes. He stuck out one hand mid-air, at full stretch, and plucked the ball just inches off the turf in one fluid motion. The catch stunned the batter and even left Prasidh momentarily speechless, before erupting in celebration. It was not only a stunner for the day, but possibly one of the best grabs of IPL 2025 so far. With this wicket, Prasidh bagged his fourth, turning the tide firmly in favour of his side. Jos Buttler’s gravity-defying leap was replayed on loop, a moment that cricket lovers won’t forget anytime soon.

Delhi posted a strong total of 203/8 after being put in to bat by Gujarat in Match 35 at Ahmedabad. Despite losing Abishek Porel early, Karun Nair, KL Rahul and skipper Axar Patel ensured momentum with quickfire knocks. Ashutosh Sharma’s explosive 37 off 19 provided a late flourish, though wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Prasidh Krishna starred with the ball, picking up 4 crucial wickets, including two in two balls, and was ably supported by Arshad Khan and Sai Kishore. In response, Gujarat raced to 29/1 in 3 overs, losing skipper Shubman Gill to a sharp run-out. Sai Sudharsan started briskly, while Buttler joined him to keep the required rate in check. With a required rate of just over 10 and plenty of batting left, the chase remains wide open.
