Arbuthnot ABL backs Power Capacitors acquisition with £1.4m facility

Arbuthnot Commercial Asset Based Lending (ACABL) has provided a £1.4 million asset-based lending facility to support the acquisition of Power Capacitors Limited and to provide working capital for future growth.

Power Capacitors, founded in 1973, supplies motor and power electronics capacitors and offers servicing, maintenance and installation services for Power Factor Correction equipment. It holds ISO 9001:2015 certification and serves clients ranging from multinational corporations to SMEs and private individuals.

The business had remained under family ownership for five decades. With the retirement of the second-generation owners, the business was acquired by Harry Townshend, an engineer and investor with experience in the sector.

Townshend said the funding package from ACABL was key to completing the transaction and enabling a smooth transition. After evaluating five providers, he selected ACABL for its commercial terms and client-focused approach. “Arbuthnot came out on top,” he said. “They visited the business, met both myself and the seller, and demonstrated strong preparation and integrity throughout the process.”

Andrew Rutherford, Commercial Director at ACABL, said: “We are pleased to support Harry and Power Capacitors as the business enters a new chapter. Personal relationships remain central to our approach, and we believe this has contributed significantly to our success.”

“Arbuthnot ABL backs Power Capacitors acquisition with £1.4m facility” was originally created and published by Leasing Life, a GlobalData owned brand.
