DUAL Europe establishes new marine hub in Hamburg

DUAL Europe has expanded its marine operations by launching a new hub in Hamburg, Germany.

This marks the company’s third marine hub in under two years following similar openings in Rotterdam in 2023 and Genoa in 2024.

Klaus Weber will lead the Hamburg team as the head of Marine at DUAL Deutschland.

Weber brings more than 30 years of experience in marine insurance and served for 25 years on the Hull Insurance Working Group at the GDV.

He was also involved with IVR, a pan-European inland shipping organisation, for ten years, with two years as its president.

Joining Weber in the Hamburg office are underwriters Steffen Thormann and Tereza Alisch.

The team will provide a range of marine insurance products such as ocean and inland hull, builders risks, cargo and land-based equipment, catering to the needs of the international broker market.

DUAL Europe CEO Olaf Jonda said: “I am delighted to welcome Klaus and his team to DUAL. Their combined expertise, together with our new hub in Hamburg, will be instrumental in further driving our Marine division forward, ensuring that DUAL Europe remains a market leader.

“This expansion of our Marine business marks a pivotal step in our growth strategy. We are committed to further expanding our Marine offer and delivering unparalleled expertise and innovative solutions to our clients. With Marine teams in Italy, the Netherlands and Germany, we are strategically positioned to continue leading in the Marine insurance market.”

Last month, DUAL North America partnered with Homebound Insurance Exchange via DUAL Personal Lines, focusing on insurance for manufactured homes, dwelling fires and homeowners.

“DUAL Europe establishes new marine hub in Hamburg ” was originally created and published by Life Insurance International, a GlobalData owned brand.
